Crowdfunding: Occupational Therapy Service Learning
You can help our Occupational Therapy students put their skills to work.
This fall, a group of Widener Occupational Therapy doctoral candidates will travel to Dominica, an island in the Caribbean, in order to provide care to patients in an international setting. The goal of the trip is multifold, but ultimately will help these students better understand how to provide care and interventions to a diverse (both ethnically and linguistically) population very different from their own, and to do so in a way that is culturally appropriate and sustainable. Students will also be expected to learn new therapeutic and patient communication skills and to learn about the island, its history, and its culture an a respectful and meaningful way.
Your gift will provide important funds that will help students from a wide variety of economic backgrounds make this trip; it will be used to help offset the costs of travel, meals, and lodging for students.
All gifts in support of this crowdfunding campaign are tax-deductible.
To make a gift at a leadership level, use our online gift form or contact Brian Lewis, Director of Annual Giving, at balewis1@widener.edu or 610-499-4113.
