There are a variety of planned giving options you can use to make a lasting commitment to Widener.
Giving From Retirement Funds/IRAs
If you are aged 72 years or older, you can make gifts to Widener directly from the Required Minimum Distribution of your traditional or Roth IRA accounts, which can reduce your tax liability for the year. You can also leave Widener as a beneficiary of a retirement plans like a 401(k) or 403(b).
Charitable Gift Annuities
In exchange for your irrevocable gift of cash, securities, or other easily-converted assets, Widener agrees to pay one or two named beneficiaries a fixed sum each year for life.
Estate Gifts
The most popular planned giving option is a designation in a will.
All planned giving donors are automatically honored as members of the Widener University Legacy Society, which recognizes individuals who have continued their relationship with Widener into the future. Learn more about how we recognize our donors.
