Thank You for Being a Changemaker: A personal message from our students
“I can really continue my growth and success here in this community that I’ve become attached to,” - Felipe ’25
Our students give the best thanks, but we just had to say it one more time: Thank you so much for supporting Widener scholarships this year.
As Felipe said, when you give to scholarship funds at Widener, you’re not just empowering one student to continue their academic journey—you’re strengthening a whole community of changemakers.
And they’re not wasting any time making an impact. 96% of the Class of 2022 was employed, in grad school, and/or in military service within 6 months of graduation. Widener grads are excelling in fields from medicine and technology to arts and culture to law and education.
That success begins with a world-class Widener education, and the numbers don’t lie:
- We’re a Top 80 Best Value School nationally as ranked by U.S. News & World Report.
- 96% of our 2022 graduates achieved their intended career goals of employment, graduate school, or military and other services within six months of graduating, according to the National Association of Colleges and Employers.
- Alumni with a bachelor’s degree enjoy a $104,000 median mid-career salary.
But there’s a lot the rankings don’t show.
A Widener education also means learning under the mentorship of faculty who care about the unique needs and goals of each student in their classroom. A Widener education means considering our community in everything we do, and looking to our rich history to inform our future. A Widener education means finding the friends who become family to support you long after graduation.
Your investment in scholarships makes all this and more possible for our Pride. Now more than ever, we need the expertise, creativity, and kindness of Widener grads to lead people, projects, and industries. The gift of a scholarship today creates a ripple of education, innovation, and progress tomorrow.
“This scholarship helped me to actually make my goals a reality,” - Conrad ’23
For recent graduates like Conrad, scholarships have made the difference between a dream and an achievement. That’s the true power of a Widener education and the true power of those who have stepped up and made scholarships one of their philanthropic priorities.
So, on behalf of all the students this year who have benefitted from the generosity of scholarship donors like you, thank you. We wouldn’t be Widener without you.
