Gifts from Pride members set records in every category

The Widener community roared louder than ever during this year's Roar4Widener day of giving on April 9, shattering previous records and demonstrating the incredible strength of Pride philanthropy.

When the final numbers were tallied, the results spoke volumes: 1,045 donors made 1,548 gifts totaling $217,988 - all-time highs for this growing tradition. This remarkable showing included more than $25,800 in challenge gifts that sparked giving throughout the day.

The Pride's generosity came from every corner of the Widener community. While alumni formed the backbone of support, current and former parents, faculty, staff, students, and friends all contributed to this resounding success. Athletics programs led the charge, bolstered by exceptional family and student participation, while academic programs, scholarships, and flexible student support funds also received significant backing.

"Think about the moment of generosity that inspired you," urged Widener University President Dr. Stacey Robertson—and the Pride answered that call emphatically. These contributions will not only provide Widener with the agility to meet immediate needs but also strengthen the university's foundation as it faces future challenges.

This year's Roar4Widener extends a four-year trend of growth, reflecting the community's deepening commitment to student success and the university's mission. The impact of these gifts will be felt across campus, supporting the programs and opportunities that make Widener such a special place.
